Strengthening the role of civil society to improve access to justice and strengthening the rule of law in the KR

PF «Legal Clinic «Adilet» from November 2, 2015 has launched the project «Strengthening the role of civil society to improve access to justice and strengthening the rule of law in the Kyrgyz Republic» with the support of the EU and ACTED.

Purpose of the project:

To improve access to justice and increase respect for the Rule of Law by promoting transparency and accountability.

Tasks of the project: 

To build the role of civil society to hold duty bearers responsible for respect of the Rule of Law and to improve access to justice in isolated rural communities.

Beneficiaries:

• ethnic minorities;
• youth;
• women;
• disabled individuals.

Activity 1: 

Expansion of Adilet legal network and provision of legal training for new lawyers

Activity 2: 

Provision of means tested legal services to vulnerable citizens in target communities

Geographic coverage:

• Osh oblast (Chon-Alai, Kara Kulzha, Nookat, Alay districts);
• Jalal-Abad oblast (Toktogul, Toguz Toro, Ala-Buka, Chatkal districts);
• Naryn oblast (Naryn, At-Bashy, Jumgal, Ak-Talaa districts);
• Issyk-Kul oblast (Jeti-Oguz, Ton, Tup, Ak-Suu districts).

Project duration: November 2, 2015 - October 31, 2016.
