Civil society initiative for electoral reform in the Kyrgyz Republic

On March 15, 2017 PF LC “Adilet” started implementation of the project “Civil society initiative for electoral reform in the Kyrgyz Republic” with the aid of the European Union.

Project goal:

Strengthen civil society contribution to the electoral reform process in the Kyrgyz Republic

Project objectives:

1. Conduct a nationwide voter education campaign in support of transparent, inclusive and effective electoral process in the run-up to presidential elections;
2. Elevate civil society support to electoral reform process through specialized research and publications, public polls, policy discussions and CSO coordination.

Target Audience:

• Subjects of the electoral law;
• Civil society organizations (CSO);
• Participants of the electoral process from state institutions and local self-government;
• Representatives of political parties and Mass Media.

Final beneficiaries:

Citizens eligible to vote in the Kyrgyz Republic.

Types of activities:

• Providing legal consultations to subjects of suffrage (individual and by “hot line” phone);
• Carrying out analysis of the national electoral legislation and developing recommendations;
• Organizing and carrying out information trainings for target audience on electoral law;
• Development, publication and dissemination of information and legal materials in area of electoral process.

Project is implemented on the territory of Kyrgyz Republic.
Term of the project: 12 months.
