In autumn of 2017, presidential elections are to be conducted in Kyrgyzstan. Everyone understood that approximately in the spring of 2017, active preparatory activities related to these elections will begin and, as a result, criticism of the current authorities will intensify. From the autumn of 2016, Atambayev A., the president of the Kyrgyz Republic, repeatedly warned the above-mentioned media and journalists on official topics of their publications and coverage at his official speeches.

In February 2017, the claim was filed by the SDPK political party against R. Karasartova and "24.kg" news agency, whose editor-in-chief was also criticized by the President.
The characteristic feature of all these claims is the huge amount (according to the standards of Kyrgyzstan) of the claim requirements - the total amount of which is 62 million soms.
