Widening access to constitutional justice in the Kyrgyz Republic

PF "Legal Clinic" Adilet "since September 1, 2017 started implementing the project "Widening access to constitutional justice in the Kyrgyz Republic ", with the support of Bread for the world - Protestant Development Service.

Project Goal:

Increasing access to constitutional justice for protection of the rights and freedoms of citizens and organizations, guaranteed by the Constitution

Project Objectives:

1. Interested and concerned parties are more aware of the existing mechanisms of constitutional proceedings and their general level of legal knowledge about these mechanisms has increased.
2.Contradicting norms of the existing legislation have been harmonized and are in accordance with the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Target groups:

- Lawyers/Attorneys
- Human Rights Defenders
- Judges
- Prosecutors
- Employees of the Ombudsman’s Office
- Students
- Journalists

Final beneficiaries:

- Citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic;
- Legal entities of the Kyrgyz Republic (commercial and non-commercial organizations).

Activities:

Within the framework of the information and educational component of the project, it is planned:
1. Updating, finalizing, publishing and disseminating the Guidance on procedures and mechanisms for submitting appeals to the Constitutional Chamber of the Supreme Court of the Kyrgyz Republic and their consideration;
2. Organization and holding of information and legal seminars for interested lawyers / attorneys and representatives of civil society organizations, judges, prosecutors, employees of the Ombudsman's Office, journalists, students of law faculties of universities.

Within the framework of the law enforcement component of the project, it is planned:
1. Providing legal advice on issues related to constitutional justice;
2. Representation of the interests of individuals and legal entities in the Constitutional Chamber of the Supreme Court of the Kyrgyz Republic;
3. Submission and initiation of consideration of applications in the Constitutional Chamber.

Duration of the project: September 1, 2017 - August 31, 2020.
